Thorin Oakenshield - a flawed character and that's why we love him.
Thorin’s major weaknesses are on the left, where his face is covered in shadow, and all his virtues are at the right. I’ve found this very metaphorical – I’ve added the same number of flaws and of virtues and they seem to be balancing on “the edge of the knife”, as Galadriel would say, or - more accurately in case of this picture - at the edge of Thorin’s sword. Which side will, at the very end, turn out to be the dominant one? We’ll have to find out
